Sen. Tomes Tours Southern Indiana Schools â€“ State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) visits with students and teachers at several Gibson County schools, Wednesday, Oct. 16. Tomes toured Owensville Community School, Gibson Southern High School, Haubstadt Community Elementary and Fort Branch Community School to talk with educators, experience classroom learning, view school facilities and help educate students about their state government. â€œI am so thrilled to see schools in our community providing our young people with such an excellent, impressive education,â€ Tomes said. â€œIt is clear to me that Gibson Countyâ€™s administrators and educators are deeply passionate about reaching our kids and giving them the tools they need to succeed in college and the workforce.â€ Pictured in Gibson photo, Sen. Evans Fourth Graders Get Lesson in State Government From Sen. Tomes â€“ State Sen. Jim Tomes (R-Wadesville) visits fourth-grade students at Evans School in Evansville on Wednesday, Oct. 9, to discuss state government and how new laws are created in Indiana. The students talked with Tomes and participated in activities to learn about Indiana history, the legislative process and the importance of democracy.
